I just finished helping someone install Windows XP into a virtual machine but the virtual ethernet adapter is missing a driver, so Windows can’t use it. It has Internet access. Isn’t it time that VirtualBox updated it’s selection of Interfaces to something current, perhaps even including support for higher speed network interfaces. Click Continue to finish installing the driver. I thought it was in the OSE too. Specifically, in Windows Explorer, I bring up the Windows network, then the workgroup, and I can access all the computers there. Try searching the forums first with Google and add the site filter for this forum.

I have an old Windows NT4 partition that I wanted to set up as a virtual machine. Just need to run VMWare Tools.
Windows NT was completely installed. On the same host machine I also have a guest install of Ubuntu 8.
The “virtio” networking drivers are available for the following guest operating systems: I’ve not tried out the other “virtual” adapters listed in that drop down yet, so I’ll switch those around till Windows plays friendly with one. Virttualbox I had previously stated since there is no evidence in my copy of of support for the Virtual Network Adapters, I have installed a clean copy ad into the VM.

In windows, i am unable to delete the hidden ones, im getting a “unable to delete, maybe device is required to boot error” here’s a screenshot, the disabled ones are those I’m trying to delete and the yellow ones are the adapters that aren’t working. It will automatically install drivers and says to restart the os. If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response.
The AMD was not ecognized by device manager and the Intel did no recognize the device. I was struggling for this issue since weeks. Look forward to seeing the log.
